London Bridge Station

London-Bridge-Station
London-Bridge-Acoustics

London Bridge station is currently being rebuilt as part of the Thameslink Programme, providing more space and new facilities for passengers.

Acoustics Plus has been working on this iconic station for over 2 years to ensure that the proposed PA/VA system is compliant with the relevant acoustic standards.

We have undertaken detailed acoustic modelling of all public areas of the London station.

The brief

  • Design the public address and voice alarm system for the main concourse, terminus concourse, and train platforms.

  • Carry out an acoustic computer modelling study to verify that the proposed acoustic design will meet the acoustic design criteria specified in the performance constraints.

  • Parameter prediction including reverberation time, sound pressure level and speech transmission index.

  • Post commissioning electro-acoustic performance assessment of intelligibility and sound pressure level.

The results

  • PA/VA system for new concourse is installed and operational.

  • Platform PA/VA system installed and operational.

What next

  • Commissioning of the system is set to commence in the coming months.
