Morton’s Members’ Club – Mayfair

Morton’s private members’ club has a bar, restaurant, private dining room and basement nightclub and was revamped by the new owner, Marc Restaurants.

We were contracted by the building developers to sound proof the nightclub from the floors up above and the neighbouring area.

The brief

Morton’s members like to enjoy a quiet drink or meal at the club, so it was essential that the nightclub did not interfere with these activities – or the surrounding area. We were asked to:

  • Conduct a background noise assessment over a 24-hour period and undertake a noise impact assessment for the proposed nightclub in line with local authority planning requirements
  • Supply an acoustic report detailing the noise survey findings and an assessment of the noise impact
  • Provide advice on sound insulation and specify noise mitigation measures as required.
  • Carry out pre-completion sound insulation testing

  • Planning permission was granted following submission of our acoustic report
